This can mostly be seen in the firm’s use of its cloud-based construction app, where clients can view daily vlogs, photos, videos, make payments, sign documents, and monitor the construction schedule while easily communicating with the team. 

President Jesse Lane leads a firm known for new constructions, tenant improvements, restaurants, and large renovations that usually carry price ranges from $100,000 to $20 million and more. These services have performed for various project types, including retail shops and stores, veterinary clinics, office buildings, medical offices, fitness centers, dental offices, restaurants, and warehouses. One of these notable projects is a large renovation project for a signature flight private jet facility that exudes a modern and chic air. This goes hand in hand with the business’s exclusivity.


7) Interior Build Outs Inc.

Established in 2007, Interior Build Outs Inc. focuses on interior renovation within tenant spaces. One of the firm’s most notable projects is its build-out work on Bank United’s Jacksonville office. A 2,400 square foot space, this build-out required the removal of an old kitchen, as well as interior partitions of neighboring offices that help assemble a space for the necessary offices and cubicles. Eight offices were included, along with a conference room, an IT closet, a copy room, and break room. Giving the reception and cubicle area an open and spacious feel, the perimeter offices and conference room allow natural light into the center cubical area through sidelights and floor to ceiling glass windows for the conference rooms. 

Interior Build Outs was founded by its current firm president Joseph Hodgins. A graduate of the University of Florida with a bachelor’s degree in building construction, Hodgins carries over 30 years of experience, with major strengths lying in his attention to detail and the ability to incorporate all of his client’s needs into each project. He also possesses a deep understanding of the Jacksonville market. 


6) Live Oak Contracting

Live Oak was only established in 2014, but Inc. recognized it as the fastest growing construction company in the nation in 2018. It also took the 34th place in Inc.’s 5000 list. A full-service general contracting firm, Live Oak specializes in multifamily and commercial construction, including development, design build, renovation, rehabilitation, and tenant improvement projects. One of these notable tenant improvement projects is its own office space. Built about a year ago, this 14,000 square foot project made use of oak wood at the firm’s entrance to come hand in hand with the company’s logo. 

Live Oak contracting was founded by current firm president Paul Bertozzi. Licensed in nine states, Bertozzi was included in Jacksonville Business Journal’s 2017 Top 40 under 40 list and was named one of American City Business Journal’s 100 most influential commercial real-estate executives. He is currently on the Board of Governors for the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Advisors for NEFL Urban Land Institute.  


5) Emerald C’s Development inc

Incorporated in 2010, Emerald C’s Development Inc. started truly growing in 2013 when firm principals Brittany and Jesse Culbreth focused on turning their firm into one of Jacksonville’s prominent companies. Over time, this firm specializing in interior build-out projects has developed relationships with numerous clients like Brooks Rehabilitation, Turner Pest Control, and Velocity Air Sports, among many other local and national clients. Aside from the principals’ full attention, the firm’s progress can also be the result of the Culbreths’ experience and ability. Brittany Culbreth earned a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida’s construction management program before building ground-up military base projects. A job completed for Waterview’s building I—one of the complex’s duo of three-story, 85,000 square foot, tilt-wall office buildings. Waterview I received a complete build-out for the second and third floors in addition to the construction of the building shell, related site work, and parking to support the building. Like Waterview II, Waterview I also has high-performance glass and a curtain wall system with class A finishes in the lobby and common areas.

Another great example of the firm’s impressive work is the 18,000 square foot build-out for LRK Architects’ Jacksonville office. This build-out included high-end finishes, custom millwork, high-end drywall simulated marble finish, magnetic paneled walls in the workspaces, and custom light fixtures. Since the client was paying rent for four different branch offices, the project was completed in 92 days—a month earlier than scheduled. The firm’s ability for quality construction may be credited to CEO Wayne McCall. A graduate from the University of California’s BS Building Construction course, McCall has 30 years of construction experience and a resume that extends to multi-million dollar commercial projects.
