With more than 150 embassies, event facilities, and the 2.3-million-square-foot Walter E. Washington Convention Center, Washington D.C. offers endless opportunities for meetings and events. As one of the leading destinations for meetings and conventions in the country, D.C. attracted nearly one million visitors in 2016.  It’s no surprise, then, that the demand for hotel and hospitality accommodations is also on the rise, making D.C.’s hospitality industry one of its strongest sectors.

This high demand for quality hotel accommodations also creates a strong market for general contractors with the skills, expertise, and experience it takes to build complex, luxurious, functional hotels. Our team went looking for Washington D.C. contractors who have built some of the finest hotels in the country. We considered the number of projects a firm has in the city, the awards and recognition they have earned, their industry affiliations, their notable clients, their years in business, and the overall quality of their hotel projects.
