Cadre General Contractors

3448 S. Irving St. Englewood, CO 80110

Cadre General Contractors (Cadre GC) focuses on providing remodeling and new home construction services to clients in the greater Denver area. Most of its builds are high-end homes with stylish designs and precise craftsmanship. The team behind each structure is made up of veteran professionals—they provide specialized and in-house work. As a Colorado-based contractor, Cadre GC is experienced with prototypical construction projects and the local permitting process. It has spent almost 30 years shaping communities and understands the best way to approach projects. Publications like Colorado Homes & Lifestyles, Uncrate, 5280, and One Kind Design have featured the firm over the years.

The Belcaro Beauty project is one of Cadre GC’s new home projects, located in an established, classic Denver neighborhood. It is a single-story ranch with large atrium spaces that house the master suite and children’s sleeping zones. Cadre GC recycled Wyoming snow fences to use as exterior façades and incorporated stacked limestone and metal roofing into the details. There is also a sunken exterior courtyard, which brings natural light into the basement.

Bonsai Design Build

2931 W 25th Avenue, #202, Denver, CO 80211

Bonsai Design Build is an architect-led design-build firm that produces designs based on high-performance and passive design principles. The firm creates collaborative, client-centric, and sustainable designs that utilize natural and local building materials. Combining its thoughtful material choices with efficient construction techniques allows Bonsai Design Build to consistently give clients unique and environmentally sensitive homes. The firm’s dedication to its craft has been acknowledged by several publications, including the LoHi Lifestyle Magazine, Shoutout Colorado, and Voyage Denver.

This Lohi High-Performance House project challenged Bonsai Design Build’s creative solution-making skills. Part of the client’s request was to maximize and combine the indoor and outdoor gardening space with functional and efficient living areas. While the firm worked on blending indoor and outdoor areas, it also worked on three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and a large and open kitchen-living area. The upper level provides homeowners with a western-facing roof deck, which can be used for light gardening and afternoon activities. An exterior staircase connects the second floor with the ground floor to create space for more efficient gardening.
