In 2017, Bloomberg reported that the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex welcomed around 246 new residents per day. Experts attribute this to Dallas’ booming economy, absence of income tax, and a generally lower cost of doing business in Texas. This growth in population is causing a proportional growth in demand for housing, leading to a spurt of residential developments in the city. Business owners and investors see this as an opportune time to enter Dallas’ thriving housing market, but it is not without its unique challenges.

As the demand for multifamily living grows, the tastes of potential tenants are also evolving. They have begun including amenities, style, and accessibility as factors to consider in choosing communities in which to live. Developers are faced with the challenge of hiring general contractors who are capable of delivering projects with these requirements.

To help you find the best contractor for your project, we have developed a list of the top multifamily builders in Dallas. These contractors were determined to be the best based on their portfolios, awards, and media recognition. Some of them have also ranked on prestigious lists including Engineering News-Record’s Top Contractors of the Year, and Multifamily Executive’s Largest General Contractors.

If you are thinking about building a multifamily project, we recommend checking each builder’s license with the local licensing board, speaking to past clients, and using our bidding system to get competitive quotes from at least 3 contractors. Getting multiple bids is the best way to ensure you get a fair price and that bids include the complete scope of work.
