The firm was featured in Southern Living’s Custom Builder Program for its great craftsmanship. The firm’s in-house architecture and design team has been featured in The Business Journal’s Top 25 category for eight years running.

Southern Evergreen’s remodels range from bathroom and kitchen updates to large-scale, whole-house renovations. One of the firm’s most noteworthy projects is the historic preservation of the 1917 HH Felder House. It was recognized as an excellent project by Preservation Greensboro Incorporated. 8) Shea Homes Charlotte

Owned by the Shea family, who has a long history in the contractor business, Shea Homes Charlotte is one of the largest luxury homebuilders in the United States. Started in 1881 by John F. Shea, this firm, which Shea began from a one-man plumbing business, is currently operating in 10 states (but with a focus on the Carolinas). In North and South Carolina alone, the company has worked on more than 4,000 luxury residences.

As a firm with over a century of experience, Shea Custom Homes has been awarded several different prizes. In North Carolina, the firm has won Silver and Gold Awards for Best Single Home from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). In 2005, the company was named one of “America’s Best Builders” by the NAHB and as the “2007 Builder of the Year” by Professional Builder Magazine. In 2013, Shea Homes received the Excellence in Remodeling Gold Award for whole-house renovation awarded by the Home Builders Association (HBA) of Charlotte. Earlier in 2012, the firm received the Contractor of the Year Award for Whole House Renovation.

The firm has received 30 industry awards. In 2017, Leeke and his team received three PRISM Awards from the Charleston HBA (CHBA).
