We decided to showcase ten of the area’s best and most impressive construction companies—the people responsible for some of Glendale’s most outstanding structures. These firms were chosen for their unique experiences, portfolios, and skill sets. Several of these companies are recipients of countless industry awards, and their work has been published in numerous magazines. 

W.E. O’Neil Construction

909 N Pacific Coast Highway, #400, El Segundo, CA 90245

Established in 1925, W.E. O’Neil is an award-winning and nationally ranked construction firm that has completed projects across the United States. The firm operates out of several locations in Arizona, California, Colorado, Illinois, Tennessee, and Texas. The firm is known for its use of the best technology, including Building Information Modeling, and it takes a transparent approach to preconstruction. The firm also takes great pride in its national rankings. Most recently, it was named by the Los Angeles Business Journal as the 19th leading general contractor in the area. Showcased here is the firm’s work for Raython Systems Company. 

Showcased here is one of the firm’s most impressive projects. Located in Glendale and labeled as “Next on Lex” in its portfolio, this project provides both residential and office spaces. It also contains several entertainment lounges and houses over 494 units. The project was completed in collaboration with the professionals at KFA Architecture and consists of four buildings that sit on a raised podium. It also provides three levels of underground parking. 

KPRS Construction Services

KPRS Construction operates out of its headquarters in Los Angeles and offers its clients a full range of general contracting services. Since its start, it has cultivated excellent relationships with some of the area’s most noteworthy brands, including Amazon, FedEx, Coca-Cola, and LG. The firm credits its success to the experience of its team of hands-on professionals. At the firm’s helm is its president, one of its founding partners, Joel H. Stensby. Joel has experience at all levels of the organization and has worked with a number of major nationwide firms. 

Showcased here is the firm’s work for ACE 121, a 70-unit multifamily structure in Glendale. It features a modern design and provides several gathering spades, its own art gallery, and large community rooms. Some other great details include its sculpture garden and a number of other LEED-certified features. 

Howard CDM

Founded in 1972, Howard CDM operates out of its office in Bellflower. It prides itself on the stellar reputation it has secured through the years. The firm has been featured in numerous publications, including What Not Los Angeles, LA Business Journal, and OC Register. Howard’s team assists its clients throughout the construction process. That includes pre-construction, estimating, value engineering, budgeting, and accurate plans. For the past 40 years, the company has worked with countless well-known clients, including Laemmle Theatres, The Eli and Edythe Broad Foundation, Orange County School of the Arts, and Sprout LA Restaurant Group.

The featured project showcases the firm’s work for the Pacific Theaters Americana at The brand. It was completed together with the professionals at Perkowitz + Ruth. It spans over 68,000 square feet and also contains its own outdoor shopping community. 

Sierra Pacific Constructors

Sierra Pacific Construction offers its clients a complete range of general contracting services. The firm operates out of its office in Woodland Hills and is known for completing all of its projects on time and within the agreed-upon budget. Now in its fourth decade of construction work, the firm prides itself on its stellar reputation and its 85% rate of repeat clientele. Since its establishment, Sierra Pacific has completed over 3,200 successful projects throughout Los Angeles. The firm has completed projects for household names like LinkedIn, Netflix, Google, and NBCUniversal. 

The project we decided to showcase is the firm’s work for Learner’s Digest International; it is an excellent example of the firm’s talent for corporate interiors. It features an excellent modern design. Some of its best elements include its large conference room, the lounge areas, and the unique overhead lighting. 

MODAA Construction

MODAA is an award-winning, fully licensed and insured firm. It provides its clients with a complete range of general contracting services and has had the opportunity to work in some of the best areas across Los Angeles. It maintains affiliations with important industry organizations like the American Institute of Architects (AIA), as well as the US Green Building Council, which assures clients of the high efficiency and sustainability of its projects. The firm’s work has been featured in countless publications like Architectural Digest and the Los Angeles Times. Featured here is one of the firm’s best commercial endeavors.

Located in Glendale, this project was completed in collaboration with Abramson Teiger Architects. It features a new full wall feature showcasing prefinished hand-cut and stained wood pieces. All the furniture here was built by a MODAA vendor and showcases excellent Silestone slab and wood paneling. 

Kavin Construction

With nearly five decades of industry experience, Kavin Construction takes great pride in being one of  Los Angeles’s premier residential contractors. The firm provides exceptional service and it has developed long-lasting relationships with its interesting clientele. Kavin offers a variety of home remodeling services that encompass large-scale home remodels, kitchen and bathroom renovations, pool construction, and accessory dwelling units. The firm is capable of taking on projects regardless of scale or complexity. Its portfolio features an extensive range of homes and spaces, ranging from complex homes that sit on the hills of Los Angeles to beachfront properties along the Pacific coastline. The featured project is one of the firm’s most extensive remodels in Glendale. The home was completely transformed to accommodate a new open floorplan, glass doors and windows, and natural oak hardwood floors. Some other great details include the porcelain tiles on the walls and floors of its master bathroom, its countertops, and the custom shaker cabinets.
