Cavazos Architects

9114 McPherson Road, Suite #2501, Laredo, TX 78045

Formerly known as Leyendecker & Cavazos, Cavazos Architects is one of the first architecture firms in Laredo. The company has gradually expanded into one of the leading design studios in the city. Focusing on designing for commercial, religious, educational, civic, and residential clients, the firm provides full-scale architectural and design solutions. The firm’s design philosophy is anchored in creating spaces that connect with the environment.

Cavazos Architects is led by principal architect Guillermo Cavazos Jr. Under his wing is a team of highly experienced and creative designers and professionals. Taking a collaborative approach, the firm provides a straightforward method from design to execution. The studio’s creative process includes identifying goals and ensuring that the firm delivers the most efficient solutions while addressing any challenges.

As they began to outgrow their existing headquarters building (also designed by Cavazos Architects), Texas Community Bank purchased adjacent land and decided to build an Annex facility that would house many of their non-customer related departments, such as their Compliance department. Cavazos Architects designed this facility to be a “little brother, or sister” to the existing building, using the same architectural detailing, scale & materials, yet paring it down somewhat, so as not to compete with the original building. The interiors were designed with an open, flexible concept in mind, allowing the Owner to reconfigure the interior spaces to suit, depending on which department would occupy one of the 4 bays of offices and open space.
