Covering more than 110,000 square feet, the project upgraded the building’s exterior. The company also led the construction and fit-out of the boutique hotel’s 133 rooms over its below-grade parking. Aside from other structural improvements, amenities, such as a lobby lounge that also serves as a breakfast area. The work also included a meeting space, restaurant, bar space, and an outdoor pool terrace.

One of the firm’s most notable contributions to the commercial sector was when it led the building for the Boulevard Brewery Visitors Center displayed here. The structure, originally built in 1929, underwent a much-needed transformation that fits the client’s vision and brand identity. One goal of the work was to reintroduce the old, rustic elements of the original architecture. For instance, after removing the drywall and carpeting, it exposed the masonry walls and concrete floors that added more character to the interiors. The firm also installed a custom conveyor system for transporting kegs to different levels. The work also involved the construction of a beer hall, board game space, lounge area, a nook, and a foosball table area. 


MW Builders

MW Builders has worked with some of the biggest structures that have been a part of Kansas City’s urban landscape. The commercial multifamily building was constructed in a once-vacant 220,000-square-foot structure that used to house corporate offices. The resulting transformation produced a modern building that accommodates 184 apartment units. Since the building is listed on the National Registry of Historic Places, the firm made sure to keep its original architectural context in mind. Ryan Companies

Ryan Companies was tasked with the high-end renovation work for the historic Commerce Tower. One of the highlights of this project was the building’s sustainable design that adheres to USGBC’s LEED Gold qualifications. The 32-story building is a mixed-use commercial structure that houses 355 market-rate apartments, commercial spaces, green spaces, daycare, and early childhood learner center, as well as an undergraduate and graduate university. The building also has convenient proximity to Kansas City’s downtown area. 

For over 80 years, the firm has been commended for its nod to sustainability and excellence in construction. Aside from being recognized by the ABC, the firm is also one of the most recent recipients of the Outstanding Building of the Year Award, under the 500,000-1 million square feet category, given by Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA).


Kelly Construction Group

Kelly Construction Group was the chosen commercial contractor for a renowned cocktail bar and lounge. The work involved the renovation and art installation of the landmark’s 3,500 square feet of indoor restaurant space and patio. One of the highlights of this work is its chic, contemporary interior design that exudes luxury and sophistication through the use of a sleek, dark palette. This darker-toned look is contrasted by the concentrated warmth of candle-lit ambient lighting. The same harmony of dark and warm tones can be found in its outdoor seating space, designed for a more interactive drink and dine experience.

The Gather at 2345 Grand is a cafe that features an open space layout for lounging, and a quiet drink and dining experience for the building’s professional tenants. The work was aptly named “The Gather” since it was designed to be welcoming and to encourage collaboration among employees. The interiors, inspired by the airy and expansive nature of contemporary design, employ plenty of daylight through its floor-to-ceiling glass walls. The space was the result of a collaboration with Helix Architecture.

The building currently houses the brand’s production, animation, and music studios.
